Loyd L. Naten pastored his first church in 1973 in Findlay, Ohio. Since then he has pastored in Bakersfield, El Cajon and La Habra, California.
He served as secretary for the Southern California District of the Pentecostal Church of God for eight years and as district bishop for eight years. During his tenure as Southern California bishop, he also served as an assistant general bishop for the Southwestern Region of the Pentecostal Church of God for four years.
In June, 2003 he was elected the director of World Missions for the Pentecostal Church of God.
In June, 2011 he was elected the General Secretary for the Pentecostal Church of God.
